    How would this reshape boxing?

Being a champion, and especially a multi-division champion, would actually mean something. Fighters wouldn’t be quick to say titles don’t mean anything if there is only one belt per weight class. There would be an elimination process where the best have to fight the best to get their title shots. Right now all of the sanctioning bodies have different rankings, crazy mandatories, and too many belts for each weight class....regular champ, super champ, silver champ, etc.

It's gonna become worst. U have to think about how promotors would take advantage

I can’t imagine how 1 belt per division is worse than 6 per division ( wbc franchise and wba regular titles included)

I just said it..... The promoters will find a way to take advantage.

I think it'd be A lot better . I honestly think everybody thinks that boxing is watered down like a mf that's why they're not interested in it .

I could see this becoming a good and bad thing. Here's why. I personally like seeing more than one belt holder. More than one belt holder (not including interim, gold, franchise, all that bs) leads to more fight build up. The thing that makes fights interesting is the build up. Having a champion fight a bunch of contender's I believe would be kind of boring, because these guys wouldn't have a name "wouldn't have a belt." Good thing is, we know who the "man" is at each weight. No more tons of belts per weight class, no WBC franchise champ (fimo, nelo, etc). One true champ, plus nelo won't be able to have belts in 2 or 3 weight divisions without defending it.

It'd be waaaaay better & there'd be more mainstream fans cuz it'd be less confusing. And it'd likely force promoters to work together more.

If there was one champ it'd just put more weight on being a top ten guy or the #1 guy. Nowadays being a top ten guy among 4 ABC groups holds almost no value. Even being #1 of one of them isn't that big a deal. You gotta hold a belt before anyone gives a fook about you. So that would shift more than it'd be boring cuz there'd be no champ vs champ fights.

                    This.

The best fighters in each weight division would actually have to face each other instead of just sharing the belts around and each taking the path of least resistance.
