He got hit square on the eye with a hard jab as he was trying to throw a jab himself and his forward momentum would have multiplied the force and impact of the Joyce's punch on his eye. Dubois was fading for a few rounds prior to that, I think the injury sent him into a panic and drained his energy because he got the injury very early in the fight, it just got progressively worse as the fight went on.

An eye specialist confirmed that if he continued to get hit on the eye he was at his risk of losing his sight in the eye. His corner should have pulled him out earlier. They made the injury worse too by sweeping the enswell eye iron across the eye instead of just holding it in one place. He should get a new team imo, they should have pulled him out earlier.
