“Shouldn’t a prize fighter be able to carry on for six more minutes with an injury?”

That was the exact question Larry Merchant asked Vitali Klitschko after he quit against Chris Byrd.

That was back when boxing had real journalists.

No one has asked Dubois that question. It’s the most relevant question that could be asked.

Instead, “journalists” are too busy making excuses for Dubois because Frank Warren asked them too.

    Pathetic.

I think Dubois injury happened earlier in the fight and surely more than 6 mins??

I'll have to rewatch but the eye started going about the 3rd

I'll let you work the minutes out as I'm busy but I'll for sure come back

He had two rounds left when he quit and he was up.

He should have made it to the end.

Title is misleading, to align with your terms it should read, "six more minutes from when they quit"... Very obscure statement.
Dubois managed 10 mins or more from the injury itself..
His corner should of stopped it.
Ah well, atleast his excuse was real.

The title is Larry Merchant’s exact question to Vitali Klitschko when he quit against Chris Byrd.

Whether they should or shouldn’t, the reality is many will carry on anyway

And unfortunately for Daniel Dubois, he will come up against good fighters again who can also beat him in the heart of department if needed.

That’s the reality of boxing, they are not like regular people in some ways and there’s a lot fighters out there that would not have taken the knee and get counted out.

It’s a hard road ahead in boxing for somebody that has faced adversity once and took themselves out of the fight. That’s just the reality of the fight game.

If you ever broke your eye socket you'd understand why these fighters quit when it happens.

I know, thats exactly my point.
Dubois got injured then managed more than 10mins. You do know how long rounds last right???
Its realy not hard to understand. Take your time and you can use a calculator too if you need.
