Boxers sign up to get punched in the head. That’s the job.

No one says you can’t quit. That’s why he quit.

    It is a sport.

I’m not sure where we disagree...

Oh about boxers signing up to get punched in the head. They definitely do.

Tell me where in the manual it says ‘I shall not quit even if it means never fighting again and losing an eye’

It’s a sport you festively replete jacket potato. Not a world war

He was ahead on the cards.

      Two rounds left.

      He shouldn’t have quit.

well he would have been behind after that round so do you think he should have quit then? is there a proper time to quit even though they dont know the cards

Anthony Ogogo, another British boxer, suffered a bad eye injury in 2016:

Did you see what the PROFESSIONAL doctor said about his injury?
The point is YOU DONT KNOW.
                Idiot smh
Don’t feed keyboard warrior trolls. They are cowards that hide under mommy’s skirt within the confines of their basement. Almost all keyboard warriors have never been in a fight in their lives and were probably picked on during childhood on the playground.

They lash out at public figures and professional athletes to feel some amount of relevancy in their own underachieved pathetic lives.

Most are probably ex cons with an 8th grade education, impotent, penniless, donning the a-typical wife beater chugging their 10th Natty Light between stuffing their c o c k holsters with more Cheetos.

The last action they’ve seen was cousin Betty when in grade school. Pay no attention to them. They’ll continue as long as you feed them. Let them saunter away.

Dubious Dan has lost his fans
He struggled to see, so he took a knee
But he couldn't of known, what the doctor has shown
He had much to gain, but he disliked the pain
How will he come back, after getting so much flak?
The standards were set, that he couldn't of met
So many names, who fought through the pain
But Dubious quit, when he got hit

                  Sorry couldn't help it

Despite what many are saying or dishing out at Dubois and his reputation as a fighter I do hope he manages to recover and that the injury is not overly severe..

I doubt this surgeon would recommend anyone get punched in the face for a living. Yet someone his recommendation to not get punched in the face for a living is relevant when we want to excuse a quitter. Dubois is a quitter. He can’t get a doctors note for quitting. This is boxing, not grade school.

Yeah that was a kind of daft series of comments right there. Life (hopefully) exists after the boxing career. Vision with only one eye means NO depth perception. Walk around for an hour, in public, outside, with one eye covered. Not easy. I don't blame Dubois at all... and hope he recovers fully. I wanted Joyce to win, yes, but I don't want anyone to have permanent injuries from a fight.
