Oh, wow. GREAT call man. 2005. Hopkins ultimately turned in on big time and almost pulled out the W.

And both of those fights would have suited Hopkins/Loma if there were a few more rounds to go.

Ofcourse teo's been active until 12 rounds wtf are you thinking. If they where both inactive then it's not boxing id!ot. Loma just became active on the 2nd half.

The key here is Loma could have easily done one single thing that could have allowed him a chance to prove that he was not at his best - put in a rematch clause. He was so arrogant about a sure win but what he needed was a dose of reality that anything can happen in boxing when he signed the contract. Like someone else said, he ***ed himself over - and in more ways than one.

          Loma landed, Lopez didn't.

He did not control the distance. If he controlled the distance he would have cut the ring and actually landed something, but he didn't land anything.
He landed enough to win the first 7 rounds. Why do you think Lomachenko threw so little?

I think it’s an all in or nothing kind of thing. He doesn’t have time to be rematching guys when he’s trying to collect all of the belts.

I believe guys like mayweather had rematch clauses to their benefit in the contracts.

At the end when he realized he could go to the distance he turned it up. From his opponent coming overweight and the many fouls he almost pulled it off.

Isn't Loma riding his bike and only throwing single digit punches for 7 rounds worse?

How can you be happy with that? There was so much at stake for him and he took 7 rounds off. Wouldn't you have rather him exchange more and win those first 7 rounds more convincing?

I'm pretty sure you felt like he could have done more in real time while you were watching the fight and only discover Lopez was missing more once you were able to slow it down. Which is fine, but the judges do the best they can in real time and Loma definitely didn't build a solid case for himself to win those first rounds with the naked eye.

If they were to fight again, do you think loma would be an idiot and give away the first 7 rounds again?

Clearly something deterred Loma from engaging...I would assume he was feeling Lopez’ shots.

But now he has some pretty good 20/20 vision in hindsight. He may never get that rematch or the belt and no unification. I'm sure he is kicking himself now.
