It’s all true, look at this article from 2015 where Finkel claims that Wilder is a ‘baby’ that wasn’t ready for Klitschko, despite him having 33 fights and winning a world title:

What’s worse is that Tyson Fury, who is 3 years younger than Wilder, went on to beat Klitschko in this very same year.

The proof is out there for all to see. There’s no escaping the fact that Wilder didn’t make one single unification fight in 5 years, despite having opportunities to do so, and decided to defend his title against the likes of Szpilka, Brezeale, Washington and Duhaupas instead.

An in-shape and motivated Ruiz could be a very interesting opponent for Wilder. Ruiz won't just walk into punches or stand there and take them and he does have a very solid beard. If Wilder has been diminished by the last Fury fight, Ruiz could well pull off another shocker with his quick hands and power.
