Firstly, that $7m was on the table way before he fought Ortiz and Brezeale and was earning $1-2m per fight tops.

Secondly, there is no way in hell Wilder made $30m in those two fights or even close to that. Those fights weren’t even PPV, so please tell me where that money would be coming from?

It’s all true, look at this article from 2015 where Finkel claims that Wilder is a ‘baby’ that wasn’t ready for Klitschko, despite him having 33 fights and winning a world title:
WBC heavyweight champion Deontay Wilder (33-0, 32KOs) is still very much a work in progress, says his co-manager Shelly Finkel. After last Saturday's world titl

What’s worse is that Tyson Fury, who is 3 years younger than Wilder, went on to beat Klitschko in this very same year.

The proof is out there for all to see. There’s no escaping the fact that Wilder didn’t make one single unification fight in 5 years, despite having opportunities to do so, and decided to defend his title against the likes of Szpilka, Brezeale, Washington and Duhaupas instead.

yes wilder fell in love with what he was doing....and hasnt improved...and it may too late to teach an old dog....but hes still dangerous as all hell if he hasnt mentally collapsed, in an "in the ring" sense, since losing......

how quickly we forget that after the first fight wilder wanted an immediate rematch and was made to wait by team fury/arum....wilder will get another shot if he wins in the meantime

i like your comparison to happy gilmore....and you know what? thats ok...fighters would be boring if they were all the same...for every lomachenko we could use a wilder...a guy who knocks people TF out most of the time and wants to....but maybe lacks conventional skill....thats part of what endeared me to wilder...he wasnt like everyone else....but he feared nothing really...."oh **** youre outboxing the **** out of me and im probably going to lose? i dont care im still gonna try to knock you TF out in the 12th"...."damn well i got a draw..lets do this again right away".....

boxing could use a wilder....some of you should appreciate him..hes not like everyone else...he isnt vanilla.....i like wilders..i like teos...i like guys who are off color or stir the pot a bit..or guys who look or wait for an opening to drop a bomb on you instead of fighting conventionally.....boring world it would be if we were all the same
          You nailed it well, bro.

In fact, I think if Wilder doesn't retire it's going to be interesting see him rebuild and keep that top 3 spot while he bides his time. It will be much more of a struggle this time around and I hope he and his management are up for it.
I really want to see him against AJ and I'm gutted they havn't fought already, Wilder has a chance in that fight IMO.
AJ vs Wilder will be a big fight globally.

Wallin would always be a harder fight for Fury . Southpaw plus very good footwork and excellent understanding of distance of punching who throws actual body shots . His corner is great to Rich Gamache is a masterful trainer with great game plans...Wilder is missing all of this .

Yes I picked Wallin over Fury and that’s an unofficial win for me .

Not to mention what a debacle he had with AJ - could have earned tens of millions and had a decent shot at KOing AJ. Wilder is a perfect example of a mismanaged career.
I agree with this and this proves Ducktay Whiner has no legal leg to stand on for the trilogy....deontayduckus wilderquackus waited for the contract to expire and then started quacking at very high decibels about the rematch.....typical marketing ploy from his advisor and managment

No, actually this proves that Ducktay Whiner waited til his contract expired to start quacking at very high decibels about the rematch but legally he has no leg to stand on so he must move on

At this point Wilder vs Whyte is a grudge match so yea let's do it. Although it's sh^tty timing unless Whyte can reverse his L to Povetkin beforehand.

Ruiz would probably be the best option if he's looking to fight sometime early into the new year.

That said Helenius being on the shortlist apparently at random means there is probably already a tentative date for that fight.
