When the great current fighters are kept away from each other, the door is left open for legends and YouTubers.

Because “great current fighters” aren’t fighting other “great current fighters.” Mayweather ruined boxing with this 0 s h it. Now any boxer thinking if they risk and take a 0 their career is done. These younger boxers today don’t have the mettle to fight the best. You’ve got almost all the best boxers in their 30’s that are supposedly “great” not fighting ANYONE worth a s h i t. The only one that has broken that mold to date is Lopez.

        Roy out his GDM too!

Mike isn’t ferocious anymore and the speed isn’t there! I never seen the speed for a heavyweight that made him special, he was basically a plodder fighting a small man who couldn’t hurt him that ran and held all night. Mike is doing this for charity and that’s about the level it should stay at, he’s an old slow strong well conditioned 54 year old man, so let’s be realistic and honest with ourselves and with him also.

What's truly sad is how many nostalgic casuals think a carnival/freak show like this is good for boxing. UFC couldn't even get away with this type of stuff without fans revolting. Mikey and Roy are two tired old men who resent today's generation of fighters and want to steal their shine.

Tyson could easily do exhibitions for the next few years against old name guys.
He looked decent for his age in short spurts.
Go overseas and make that big money to give people a one time chance to see a legend.

Yeah, as a sports purist definitely. But boxing is also entertainment

Garcia/Spence isn’t some grade A stellar match up, it’s just a decent fight. Spence is coming off a lucky split decision from Porter, and an accident we don’t know the extent of yet (though it looks doubtful it will have a major impact given there’s no tune up fight), and Garcia has looked average for quite a while now. It’s the PBC equivalent of Top Rank recycling

Now, I'd love to see Mike call out James Toney, because A) I know damned well if he did such a thing, James Toney would answer, B) it would be a very intriguing fight for the fans to see, from a style perspective, C) it would make crazy money for charity and for both legends... Mike, if you got any love for James Toney, give him an opportunity, and give the real fans a fight we've been dreaming of for many years. Yours truly, a life long fan
I always wondered how Toney vs Tyson would have looked in the early 2000's. I greatly enjoyed watching James knockout Holyfield in 2003. I always felt like he could have really frustrated and beaten Tyson. Toneys chin was part brick or steel i think and his skill level was elite

Im not sure how it would look now after all these years but James is in my top 5 favorites all time and Tysons in my top 10 so i would watch

Mike's stamina was good for a man hes age ,but it was an exhibition and Roy wasnt hitting him back.Anyone with half a brain could see Roy was putting nothing on hes shots and Mike wasnt throwing anything at Roy's head.Taking punishment is a whole different game.

Let's not get ahead of ourselves Jones. Mike looked good for his age....and for a former heavyweight champion that lost 100 pounds and got in shape. But let's keep it real, Tyson can not beat any of the lions that are at the top of the division. He may even get seriously hurt. The only reason Tyson looked that good was because Jones looked that bad. Also, Tyson smokes heavy. They drug test for sanctioned bouts. If he's going to continue to box, he should do exhibitions only.
