"b4 the fight, a lot of these modern fighters talk crazy sh.. about how they're gonna do this and that, how the're gonna kill eachother, then they get in the ring, throw a jab and say "Ssssss", then jump back two feet, then the other one throws his jab and says, "Ssssss", and goes "ok now it's your turn", and they repeat this same process all night long. Nobody is willing to put their ass on the line to go out there and hurt the other person, everybody is coming to survive and go 12 rounds and not get hurt" --Aaron "Superman" Davis.
I wouldn't say ALL modern fighters, but in this case, he's 1000% correct
The cancer story for Jacobs has faded and it's either time to show up or hang em up. The cancer story pretty much made us forget about the Pirog stoppage and amplify his return back in 2012.
As most have stated, the Golovkin fight was his last live performance that he appeared to be present. Anything after that was somewhat of a stinker and a letdown.
And to open and admittedly claim to not be lively in a fight because there isn't a crowd is beyond me. It's like he literally showed up, sparred and made sure he saw the last bell to sign his check right after. Sad.
Pirog exposed him years ago and his showing against a fading Golovkin made him look better than he probably is.
remember when people used to pretend jacobs beat ggg because he did better than expected? that was hilarious. he fought the same way he always did, tentatively but some people think that automatically means you must be winning i suppose. the floyd effect
