Yes, you can basically watch any fight as if it’s live. Given most the content is from America you generally don’t see results in the press either. The layout is pretty good / easy to use and you can watch lots of archive fights too.

I’m expecting the price will go up but they obviously can’t really justify it if they don’t have uk time live events yet. Launching in 200 countries though means lots of people low prices potentially means huge income?

that's just it, with dazn being so cheap...ill be watching more US content than UK content. Most brits dont have time to watch the US cards at 3-5am though, but with dazn being that much cheaper than sky, people will also just not bother with UK boxing unless it's a big fight. Basically sky sports with just matchroom UK cards is not worth subbing to. Will sky do a deal with pbc? basically matchroom UK + mtk global + pbc cards..if they can do all that for £10 a month, then it will work, but it will be counter productive for eddie. If sky make that move, by adding eddie's competition it also pushes him towards dazn in the uk.
basically the only solution now is for eddie to go all out with dazn. Dazn will prob be £10-15 a month with matchroom UK and US.
sky will prob go all out with MTK global and also bring along smaller promoters like mick hennesey and barry mguigan.
those circumstances will benefit british boxing in a big way esp with mtk global. they're serious players

Interesting. I’m fed up with pretty much any half decent fight in the UK being PPV nowadays.

Affordable subscription with the option to watch the fights the following day spoiler free works with me.

Can't believe I missed the beta release, man. Didn't even hear about it or I woulda been in.

Ah well - £1.99 I'll do even being COVID skint. Be the first subs I paid since I quit Boxnation a few years back.

You misunderstanding a huge factor though. Matchroom is not just about boxing and sky and matchroom have worked together for years across a number of sports. With boxing (currently) being the biggest sport they are offering sky they really are shooting themselves in the foot if they were to walk away from them.

It’s a bit of a silly situation because Eddie Hearn is so far #1 that sky and dazn are likely to end up compromising and him promoting both somehow split when the obvious move would be for frank Warren to try and get into one. Unfortunately for frank he was short sighted when dazn first came out and his slagging off of them has most likely putt off any sort of arrangement for him; he’s never shut the door on the sky though that I’m aware of.

Well the situation is that Sky sports can't justify their subscription cost if it's just the 10 non-ppv matchroom cards in a year.
it isn't worth paying £240 for.
don't forget Boxnation was £5-10 a month and they were regularly airing US boxing too.

Boxing fans should have an option to either pay £5 for a one off fee each time to watch a non-ppv card.
bt sports should do the same.

Sky don’t ask for a subscription for boxing though. There primary sport is football and then others like cricket, boxing etc are effectively fillers. The only exception to the rule is F1 which is effectively a pay per view additional channel. So for you - if boxing is all you want - the subscription is a lot ; but for many it’s just part of an overall package.

By the way - you do have an option to pay less for non-Ppv cards if you don’t want all the stuff ; you can buy a day pass with sky sports ; I don’t know the price but it will be something like a fiver.
