Great Post. Never had the right trainer. He needed someone to keep him calm in the corner not yell at him like Duva and Certo does that as well.

Well, at least it means that we won't see Liakhovich vs. McBride.

He said it himself. The only reason he hired Colonna was because he felt comfortable with him. Colonna lived in Chicago and is also of polish decent. With Colonna he would not have to travel out of state for training. That is a ridiculous reason to hire a non qualified person to train you. In all three of Golota's championship bouts against Byrd, Ruiz and Brewster, Golota came to the ring cold without an ounce of sweat on his body. There was a real lack of preparation on Colonna's part. Brewster was smart enough to capitalize on Golota's lack of prep and attacked him right away. Byrd and Ruiz did not really attack because they both were more concerned with not getting hit and took a defensive stance in the ring. Byrd with his elusiveness and Ruiz with his huggy bear tactics.

i agree except for the sam colonna part. under colonna's control, golota beat two nobodies by TKO, was robbed against byrd and ruiz, and was just blown away by brewster. under colonnna, the only guy he really lost to was brewster, and that was cuz brewster was just too aggressive and powerful for golota.

his career was IMO at its best (if best is the right word to use) when sam colonna was his trainer.

You need to get your facts straight, pal. You obviously know nothing about Colonna's career as a trainer and are only looking at Golota's fights. Golota has mental problems and when he gets into the ring he has panic attacks. He looks great in training. I know Colonna, and Golota begged him to train him again. Colonna was extremely reluctant because of Golota's idiotic moves in the past. Golota always had great trainers and blew it for himself. Lastly, look at his last name. COLONNA! Obviously Italian, and not Polish. Sam Colonna was born in Italy and has been a trainer for over 20 years. He knows his stuff and the reason he chose to train Golota again is because he has a good heart and will help a friend when he needs it. Golota obviously is well past his prime and has made a disgrace of himself and his trainers time and time again. Training is not his issue, however. His issue is on the inside. Get your stuff straight before you decide to talk about someone again.

This is going to be a really dirty fight. Mcbride constantly holds and Golota is just plain low blow king.
