The WBC mandated Canelo to strike a deal with GGG, deadline, just two weeks after Khan. If they didn’t strike a deal, it was going to purse bid. Canelo is the money man. Don’t you think GBP would be insecure with Loeffler winning the bid? A waste of time and money while they don’t get to dictate the split for an accomplished PPV seller and venue seller in Vegas. yes ward avoided him. do your research. he tried to fight ward in 2012-2013 and ward wasnt ready then tried to fight some guy named sartison. then years later ward made a fake offer for a fight in a years time(who does that?} that called for ggg to postpone the canelo fight. obviously if you dont know all this and just listen to wards rhetoric you could get the impression ward wanted the fight but he never actually did anything reasonable to get the fight, in fact he did things he knew would not make the fight.

yes lara avoided him, lara asked for millions for the fight when no ggg opponent was getting anywhere close to that much at the time so obviously that was never happening. he said he wanted as much as when he fought canelo, was ggg on canelo's level at that time? nope. empty rhetoric. simply calling someone out doesnt actually mean anything, in fact its often done just to boost a fighters own profile. if there is nothing behind it then it means nothing.

yes he should have fought andrade. is andrade popular and has he fought anyone? no but its at least a better fight than some of his other fights but hes certainly not a "big dog" not the best look but definitely worthy of criticism. its not like ward ducking the #1 guy in the division in bute but andrade was a top 5 guy and ggg didnt take it. the other guys were not real possibilities given their actions, demands, network situation. it takes 2 to make a fight, not 1 guy making silly demands that he knows wont be met and then running to the press "he wont fight me!"
