Yeah Charlo became GGG's mandatory but GGG chose to fight the Canelo rematch instead. Charlo was also canelos mandatory and Canelo just decided to drop his belt all together. Similar to what he did when ggg was his mandatory after the Cotto fight.

After GGG lost to Canelo in their rematch he was ORDERED by the WBC to fight Charlo for the mando spot to Canelo but GGG said hell nah and went the IBF route.

Am I the only one who remembers that Charlo was supposed to get the winner of Canelo/Golovkin but once Canelo won, they switched it up and said Golovkin had to face him?

F*** me can anyone believe GGG is nearly 39 years old where did the time go damn! I really can't see what's next for Golovkin after this fight, surely a unification against either Charlo or Andrade would be dope but GGG got all his big fights after 35 years of age and that's sad he was avoided for years until he looked beatable. We should enjoy what's left because i dare say it will be 3 or 4 more fights maximum.

so ggg chose to chase an opportunity to get a belt in 1 shot, instead of fighting someone to then get another shot against someone in canelo who went on record after the second fight and said there was no reason for a third, and eventually did turn down the 3rd fight when dazn presented it to him a year ago for a September fight. Ok
