Andy lost control of Andy. But I'm sure being the master psychologist that he is, Teddy "gin and tonic" Atlas would have a different opinion

Ruiz was already out of control long before even the first fight vs Joshua. I mean, when was he ever in shape? He obviously has skills, but his lack of dedication is written all over his fat, disgusting physique. The first fight vs Joshua was a shocker that propelled Andy to instant wealth and notoriety. However, the second fight was truly the fight of his career, because a victory would have dispelled the notion that the win in the first fight was a fluke. He would have been cemented as the "A" side of his next big fight and could have written his own ticket.

You obviously have never watched the fight you talk about as your description is as dumb as a wall mounted food delivery system.

        Hi Analjuice.
Yes, I watch the fight plenty of times. Seeing a AJ getting beat into quitting by a fat kid from mariachi band is great viewing.

i swear, as far as any boxer's social life goes..
ive never seen anything more cringe than those videos of Andy Ruiz partying.

how the fk did that guy become so cringe? he was the most humble basic guy before the AJ 1 fight...
im sure even most the guys on here if they won a $1billion wouldnt be that cringe.
enjoy it, go dine on caviar and ***** all day everyday...eat whatever you want..
but don't talk like a cringey bast*rd...just don't do that one thing.

Andy Ruiz - tsk, tsk, tsk

                Phuck Andy Ruiz!
Shame on him. There is no way we should be reading this same old, age old story about a no hoper who defies all odds and wins the title in scintillating fashion only to start partying and hanging with "new" friends and then loses it in his next defense.
How many times have we heard this story before. So yes it's on the fighter but it is also on everyone around him. I know it's hard to save a man from himself, but even if you have to lock him in his room at nights or kidnap him or get a pistol and "convince" his new friends to stay away...YOU DO IT. Any was the feel good story of the year, he made us ALL feel like we could accomplish whatever we wanted to AND eat snickers bars while we did it. Then what does he do? He pisses on our good will and spits in the eye of the universe that blessed him.
Phuck Andy. I hope he gets sparked in his next outing and never gets another shot at the title, but instead that shot goes to someone who will appreciate and respect it.
Just in case I didn't make myself clear before...PHUCK YOU ANDY.

Also, “dominated” is an odd way to describe a fight where the winner was literally afraid to engage. Brilliant strategy but dominating isn’t the word that comes to mind to describe that performance.
It's rightfully AJ's if it's his ****** mistake that was the reason for losing the belts in the first place. Ruiz didn't create that situation Where Ruiz first knocked him down. AJ did. But he did so in a ****** and dangerous manner that someone his size shouldn't do.

If you win every single round pretty much, then you dominated. What else would you call it if a fighter basically won every round? Close?

That just makes them the current holder of that particular title. After getting dropped so damn hard, Ruiz got up with a vengeance, and trounced Joshua. Your opinion doesn't negate, or trump anyone else's, it's simply your opinion 1, out of millions of others. My opinion which like your's is just 1, out of millions of others is contrary to your. I believe that if had had come in similar shape, or slightly lighter he could've beaten Joshua again in the same manner. That's because Ruiz has very quick hands, combinations, good power, and a sturdy chin. Ruiz didn't respect the title he had so gallantly won, by coming in 15 1/2 pounds heavier at 283 1/2. Joshua on the other hand weighed in 10 pounds lighter at 237, the rest is history.
But when Ruiz got up, AJ jumped straight in and stood there swinging hooks against the shorter man with faster hands square on. Fighters AJ's size do not do that for that very reason. Always make sure you control distance well otherwise smaller fighters will take advantage of you. And never swing hooks on the inside with a smaller fighter either because the smaller man has the advantage due to shorter punches. When do you ever see fighters that tall swing in the way AJ did when Ruiz got up? They're taught not to for that very reason. So it was down to AJ's mistake where Ruiz could capitalise and not from creating that opportunity himself with his skill.

Once AJ removed what was clearly the reason for losing, Ruiz was left there pissing in the wind. he didn't stand a chance. Anyone with a boxing eye knew what the problem was in the first fight and what needed to be corrected. He did, and Ruiz was dominated. At no point did he create any opportunities for himself because he isn't as good as AJ. At no weight does Ruiz win again. Not in this life. Not in the next one either. You would have lost what ever money you put on Ruiz if his weight was to your liking in exactly the same way it went down in. Nothing would have changed.

I agree. But Andy hasn't really been about being in the best shape his whole career.

He does actually have legit skill. I saw that when i first saw him years ago. I laughed when he was being introduced only to laugh in a good way when watching him go to work. But you can lead a horse to water, but you can't make it drink it.

Only he knows what he wants out of this. If this is his peak with the money he's made. Then he's satisfied his goals. But if he really wants more out of it, then he needs to make that decision now and stick with it. Give himself 4/5 years of hard work and discipline to achieve a bit more. Then he can eat all the shlt he wants when it's truly over.
