For Hatton to win, he would need to eat leather coming in and do lots of work to the body in hopes of taking over down the stretch.

It would be a great fight either way.
I agree he could end up sparked on the way in,,, people right off Ricky but the two that outclassed him were probably the two greatest fighters of the last few decades at the weight.

Hatton footwork is underrated he has a very fast footwork even floyd had a very hard time. Hatton will do to mikey what he did to castillo.

        Hatton: 5'7", 65" reach

Also, both guys topped out at 147 so I don't think size would be an issue.
To be fair, Hatton's defense was a bit better earlier in his career before the Tszyu fight. He would use a lot of nice feints, good upper body movement and always had a smooth rhythm about his work. He largely abandoned it later on.

Mike Tyson is 5'10" with a 71" reach, but that doesn't tell the whole story. Hatton's got the bigger frame, he's a natural 140lber and very strong at the weight. Garcia won his first world title at featherweight and could still box at lightweight if he chose to. He's only at 147 to cash out against the bigger names.

Regardless of who would have won, it would have been an interesting fight and fun to watch.

I know what you mean and that’s unfortunate because they also outclassed him on the back end of his prime. Plus there is no shame in losing to all-time greats

Is this a joke? Mikey is very up and down with no bells and whistles and is easy to read. Hatton was bull strong at 140 and could walk through walls. It's only fighters who had the slickness of a Floyd who isn't easy to read or fighters like Collazo who were Southpaw and bigger than him that proved to be a problem. Mikey doesn't come under that criteria what so ever. Hatton would bring a pressure that Mikey wouldn't be able to quash. Mikey is not a natural at 140. FOH. Castillo, Tszyu, Maliggnaggi and Maussa beat Mikey at the weight. Forget what Hatton does.

Other than them two and KT he didnt fight a top in form guy they were contenders and a few name guys on their way out. The KT fight had Kostya pretty much done and a good ref to help Ricky.

I think Ricky would always fail when in with a top guy that was in top form.

Mikey would be dangerous because Hatton would come in to him and thats Mikeys favorite play because he is very accurate and has great timing, I think Mikey would catch him at some point and get a Floyd type stoppage.

I think Mikey is better than what a lot of guys give him credit for I hope he gets a couple of good fights, Manny would be a hell test and show what Mikey has.

Depends on the ref and the venue. Ricky could beat Mikey like he beat Tzyu. Otherwise Mikey outboxes and maybe even stops Ricky late. All that said, I'd much rather have a beer with Hatton. Him I respect. Mikey totally pussied out with Spence. Never liked him after that.
