Hatton. In his prime he was relentless with his pressure and very strong at the weight. I don't see Garcia handling that well given his patient style and how he likes to box at his own more comfortable pace. Plus the obvious natural size disadvantage.

Also, I think Hatton's a bit underrated on here and Garcia's a bit overrated. Put Garcia in with the 2007 version of Castillo that Hatton beat and I think it would be a damn good fight. I certainly don't think he'd have his way with him like Hatton did.

I have to go with Mikey Garcia by decision because Hatton's signature performance was a struggle against a great but aging Kostya Tszyu.

Don't get me wrong, Tszyu was still an excellent fighter and Ricky was incredible that night, however I think a younger and fresher Mikey Garcia would be able to turn back Hatton's pressure with accurate 1-2's down the pipe.

Officiating would be a factor as well, and if the ref breaks up the action frequently then I definitely lean towards Mikey. If the ref allows more mauling and clinching then it tilts 50-50 for me.

I could agree if Hatton didn't employ a face-first defense, also the size difference isn't as great as you would think:

                Garcia: 5'6", 68" reach
                Hatton: 5'7", 65" reach

Also, both guys topped out at 147 so I don't think size would be an issue.

I dunno, Hatton was a killer at 140, he wasn’t the same fighter when he moved up.

I like Mikey, but I think Hatton out works him.

I think Hatton should have fought Jnr Whitter before he moved up, you may laugh but I think he would have been a harder fight for Ricky.

That's certainly a possibility, especially if Hatton is allowed to maul Mikey inside. I lean the other way just because Garcia seems to land his 1-2 on everybody (except Errol Spence Jr. so far) and I could see him doing that to Ricky.

For Hatton to win, he would need to eat leather coming in and do lots of work to the body in hopes of taking over down the stretch.

It would be a great fight either way.
