You're asking for far too much. Al is protecting them. But here's the thing... They want to be protected because they're cowards. They just want to talk tough and act like real fighters and live a fantasy instead. Fighting the top guys will see then going bye bye very quickly. They want to hang around doing nothing but talk so in 5 years or so they can delude themselves into thinking they're HOF worthy like so many of the idiots do. But after fighting nothing but garbage all their lives, there isn't even a HOF worthy resume if you added them all up together.

Don't care for Canelo but he probably picked Smith because it was a bigger financial offer rather than anybody 'ducking' or being scared

Canelo knew it was Smith from the very start. Canelo calls the shots so knows Smith would take it whenever he called. He just wanted Smith to be in no mans land until a month beforehand so he's undercooked. Smith now has to get proper sparring and get over and acclimatise all in the space of 4 weeks. This is what Canelo does to everyone. All the while he's been preparing for Smith for months and has had a full and proper camp with the correct sparring.

That's not even including the weight restrictions that probably have included in the contract.

Many PBC fighters are offered fights for big money. They're all turned down. Every PBC fighter then comes out with the usual bollocks and gives it the big'un about how they wanted it. They then fight a can that no one gives a shlt about. Rinse and repeat.

To be fair, Chenko was coming off a loss and hasn't beaten anyone.

Cruz was a Featherweight that had no place moving up again after doing so already in the past. He was a sacrificial lamb for Davis to look good against. They could have went for a fighter who is more in that weight range in Russell, but they don't want anyone to beat Davis. They played it predictable and safe to guarantee the Davis win.

Danny hasn't beaten anyone since Khan years ago at 140. He isn't world class any more. He's a fringe guy who is decent at best. He's done absolutely nothing at 147 other than beat bums.

The Rosario fight happened only because he wasn't locked into Haymon's contract. So unlike before in getting the 154 division unified, he then set up that fight with Charlo in a way he wasn't willing to do before with his other fighters when they had the titles.

He will get his shot in 2021 after Canelo lifts the belts from Smith. Canelo can easily become undisputed at 168. If Charlo is serious about wanting Canelo he should try to get a belt at 168 for leverage and negotiating.

I find it hard to believe PBC will seriously consider Benavidez,Plant or Jermall against anyone but each other anytime soon which we know isn't happening anyways. They're going to continue turning down offers against fighters outside of the PBC umbrella all the while dangling those in house fights in front of us for years to come.
