Crawford getting stroppy with the press is one thing, but stringing out signing the contract for the Brook fight so that they can't promote it properly during the Lopez/Loma fight is plain ******. Shooting himself in the foot and I can see why Arum is so totally frustrated by it.
You are blind if you can't see what is happening. Your promotion shouldn't depends on you hastily signing a contract. There were details they had to iron out and Arum was using the promotion as leverage in getting them to rush the contract. Arum, in fact most promoters, is crooked and people are real diligent when it comes to contract with Arum.

Arum said he is upset because he believes that Brian McIntyre, Crawford’s manager and trainer, leaked details of Crawford’s contract, including that his agreement with Top Rank expires in October 2021 and that Arum had promised to pay Crawford $1 million if he didn’t make an offer in 2020 to unified welterweight titlist Errol Spence Jr. to fight Crawford, in advance of Crawford’s fourth-round knockout of former titlist Kell Brook on Nov. 14 at the conference center of the MGM Grand in Las Vegas.

Told y'all, BoMac is the problem. That's why Spence wants him out of it.

Now watch BoMac come out with some lies.

How come none of the other promoters is stepping up and making Crawford offers? This whole fiasco really hurts Crawford if he feels like he has to have a promoter. They all think he's desperate now and will take advantage of that during negotiations. He should do a 1 fight deal with Haymon for Errol Spence and then go from there, granted Errol Spence gets past Danny Garcia without any controversy that calls for a rematch.

This pretty much explains why Bud hasn’t been getting the fights he needs. Arum doesn’t want to spend the money to make them happen. Like I’ve been saying with Bud and Spence...the fighters aren’t scared of anyone. None of them are scared to take an L if it came to it.

However, Arum being who he has always been...is scared to risk losing money on big fights. It’s a shame but nothing out of the ordinary for him and his kind.

Hopefully Crawford plays it smart and makes the right moves now. He’s already 33 years ago old. He needs someone like Porter or Thurman on his resume.

If Golovkin could go into that fight with a career best of 97k ppvs sold and get 1.5 million on the day, then I'm sure Spence and Crawford can do very good numbers going in with a career best of 360 and 150 ppvs respectively.

I venture to guess but I predict about 600 if they do it next and a million or more if they do it after one of them beats the Pacman.

Pac is 41 and can't break 400-500K himself. He ain't making either one of them a star.

Old ass Bob has no chill.
He’s basically saying he can’t do his job if he can’t promote a top P4P guy that has an exciting style. That’s HIS job.

I agree with you. I think it’s a bit more complicated than that though.

With the long history of Arum and Haymon and the fighters they’ve shared that mostly don’t eff with Arum, Arum is not going to be willing to pull his weight in fronting the money likely required to make the fight happen.

I can see a situation where Arum will continue to sabotage this career defining fight if Bud and team continue to verbalize their frustrations.

Arum gets credit for a lot of positive things in boxing history but he also gets his share of criticisms because it’s blatantly obvious. Every fighter that has left him has said the same thing and have the same experiences with their careers. That CANNOT be a coincidence.
