It was a tko and you aren't missing much by not seeing it. He was just trapped on the ropes and took a bunch of punches and the ref jumped in.

As for Holyfield, he looked okay. He was energetic and had quick hands in the first round. However, he looked old once the adrenaline wore off in the second. He still could finish the job because he wasn't fighting anyone, but his hands were noticeably slower. Also, I don't like how he took the one shot Bates landed. It didn't necessarily hurt him, but considering the caliber of fighter Bates is, it probably shouldn't have stopped him in his track for 30 seconds. If Bates was capable of throwing more, aka if he was a fighter and not an insurance salesman, that would have been a really interesting and really trying time for Holyfield. But alas, Bates is all... salesman.

Yeah he looked okay. He got hurt or dazed for a moment after Bates landed a good shot in the 2nd round. I knew after the second round(and I'm sure everyone else did) that this was gonna be a short night for Bates. Bates stood right in front of Evander. Nice win, but I don't think he can do something big against a top 10 heavyweight.

Bates was simply pitifull. and so was Holy.He looked OK against a really ****ty fighter.I think it was fixed...this is all propaganda....there is no ****ing way Holyfield can compete at the top level anymore....sorry to say but to me it has been obvious for many years.

Did you see when Evander landed like 20 shots in a row against Foreman when they fought and George didn't go down. Good Lord that **** was crazy.

I actually thought Holyfield looked good. The announcer was right, he was light on his feet and put some combos together pretty nicely. But, truth be told, Bates was at way too much of a disadvantage to call EH's abilities. I saw him take one strong punch and stagger. If he had showed that kind of handspeed and stamina in ADDITION to taking some shots, I'd be really impressed. As far as it went, though, not a bad showing. He's not "back" by any means, so no Roy Jones comparisons are necessary, but not bad.

he looked good for a 43 yr old but this is a testing fight a proving fight he just wanted to test himslef to see what he had, Bates sucks Evander is a HOFer and returned on a winning note in more the 3 years hopefully he can carry this over to another and another victory i hope so...........**** i hop this inspires Tyson to comeback

Yeah, really. Imagine having your insurance agent get a fight with Holyfield, and then actually connect with a big right hand to Holyfield's chin. Bates accomplished more doin that than anything he had hoped for, he knew he was going to lose, I knew that just by looking at him in his dressing room.

thats what his family has to put up with for the rest of their lives. him bragging about his shining pro moment when he stuck holyfield on the jaw with decent shot. poor peeps.
