That’s true and Mikey even acknowledged that Crawford would be an extremely difficult matchup too. The only fight at 147 that makes sense for Garcia is Pacquiao. Other than that, he should look for opportunities at 140, preferably against lightweights moving up (like Teo or maybe even Tank at a catch weight).

I hate all this talk of who is "bigger" and who is not! Lopez is a big LW, and Tank is a big Jr. LW, but did Lopez make 135? Did Tank make 130? So those advantages go to LSC and Loma! They should've been able to take advantage of their opponents losing weight! However, they could not get it done! When they lose, suddenly LSC is a FW, and Loma is a Jr. LW, etc.! Andre Ward even said this was going to happen when Lopez won! Same thing applies to LSC!

            Lopez

Lopez is a legit jr. Welterweight fighting at lightweight just beat Lomo who is actually a blown up featherweight and everyone is now talking about how he is the man at lightweight but he don't want no parts of a Tank fight

I want to see Mikey Garcia vs Pacman. They are both lightweights fighting bigger guys. Mikey is 9 years younger than Pacman but less discipline in staying in shape. Mikey walks at 180 pounds and Pacman walks at 160 pounds between fights. This can be made during the pandemic if both of them will accept $3M each.

Lopez can't beat Tank. I saw their sparring sessions on you tube. they've both gotten better but Tank will stop him. i doubt this fight happens.

I'm with ya here brother. I think at 147 the only people Mikey can beat that are in the big group are Thurman, possibly Danny G, and possibly Pac. The rest he will likely lose to. My goodness if he fought Porter he'd get destroyed! That would be the worst stylistic matchup that Mikey could ever face. The more fundamentally sound a fighter is, the better chance Mikey has against them (and I'm leaving out size advantages. Just talking styles here). People that are unorthodox fighters, reckless punchers, Mikey will struggle with those guys. He can out-fundamental guys that have good fundamentals. But I guy like Porter (who I call "the flying headbutt with arms) will destroy Mikey. Sad to say. I think Mikey would actually hang with Crawford for a while too. But Crawford is also one that has great fundamentals, but starts throwing from wild angles later in the fight. That's when Mikey would get caught

He didn't look drained at 135 for the weigh in against Easter.

He was able to go the full 12 rounds and Easter's face looked horrible by the end of the fight.

Mikey could make 135, and his first fight back should be against Ryan Garcia. A Garcia-Garcia fight should be an easy win for Mikey, then he'll know if he can still make 135 without losing something.

I find this statement interesting because Lopez made 135 and Loma was universally recognized as the top guy at lightweight. Now if you're saying that you think Lopez is big enough to compete at 140 then fine, but he hasn't done it yet and that wasn't Loma's first fight in the division.
