I view him as a fighter. Not an elite boxer. If he turns into some fine tuned, 6pack, body builder, it's changing everything that's great about him. He's a timing puncher. A fighter can't just completely reinvent himself once he's already who he is. He can improve of course. But he's still going to be the same guy at heart. Making 135 is not going to change anything for the better. With everything it would take for him to get to 135
Disagree with most of what you've written. Discipline and hard work makes any athlete better. Mikey's a fat WW and a soft JWW, but with some discipline and training he could easily get down and be a force at 135lb. He can do it and he would be better for it, but, as we all know, he won't. It's a straight up discipline thing. The Lightweight division is on fire right now. He could get himself ready, make great money and actually win there. He's not going to do **** against the elite guys at 147 or 140 because he can't hurt them (Josh Taylor schools him).

Lmao he does got a mini tim bradley syndrome

Idk hes already pretty wiry but what he does have seems like dense muscle. He would probably have to dry up a lot to make 135

i think them guys at 140 would tear him up. i couldnt imagine top guys like prograis, ramirez, taylor lettin him coast to a UD loss. 147 better.more comfortable options for better paydays.

pacquiao fight would be cool--two lightweights fighting at 147? not bad. garcias huge head vs pac mans huge calves? may the best man win!

I agree with you. Davis is the man to beat at 130 and 135. Screw the fake belts. Green K.

And he does work hard and more important, he's extremely disciplined. I mentioned he's a timing fighter. He works on that. Timing isn't natural. It comes with discipline and experience. As far as his look, again, he's not gonna be cut like a machine. It's just not him. There's lots of fighters like that. Some cut hella weight and some don't. I don't know Mikey, but I thought he looked bad when he actually got on the scale at 140 for the broner fight. Check out the weigh in. He looks grey. He looked dry and uncomfy. I'm not sure what happened there, he'd be a great fit at 140 with those guys. But no matter what he "looks like" on fight night. I think another 5 pounds off is a bad idea. ESPECIALLY since he's already been at 147 for a couple years now (AND he's been fat as hell since the Vargas fight!)

Mikey is around the same age so I don’t know about waiting them out, unless you mean wait until they move up. In that case I could see Spence going to 154 fairly soon. I think Crawford will be able to make 147 for as long as he wants because he started at 135

Mikey still has a mean 1-2 though and Teo doesn’t move his head because he sacrifices defense for offense. The guys at 140 would certainly be tough matchups but Mikey has landed consistently on everyone except Errol Spence who used his size advantage brilliantly.

Tank is a great fighter at 130. Probably be better at 124-126 but that requires alot of discipline. Too much for him. Hes pure talent. He will turn into Broner if he goes ABOVE 130.
