I know I've panned the fight a bit because Smith has no momentum heading into this but depending on how Canelo views these I think it might be quite violent. Smith will back himself to get off some big punches of his own

Size does make a difference, height does not.

Usyk is literally a million times more skilled than Chisora but he had a tough fight with him, got his face nice and swelled up, got mauled all over the ring and had a fairly close decision and the only reason is because Chisora had 30lbs on him

Go spar someone 20 to 30lbs heavier than you who is in shape and you'll notice the difference, your punches don't move them and you feel the weight on everything they land.

He struggled to get out of Chisora's way even though all Chisora was doing was plodding forward. Usyk was just moving forwards and backwards, not showing lateral movement like great fighters like Fury do.

man smith is 2" taller than fielding, it is going to look ridiculous, he is going to have to dip down really low to reach canelo, idk how he can even land his left to the body, meanwhile canelo is going to have a wide open target to smith's body


but smith is prime and a top 168 pounder, this establishes canelo as a legit force above middleweight, even if people want to say smith wasnt that good, he is still among the best in the world right now. Excuses could be made for fielding and kovalev but smith isnt old, shot or lower tier.

What’s Canelo like 5 ft 8? Canelo uses that to his advantage though tbf. He’s such a small target to land clean on. Very underrated defence.

yeah talent pool at cruiser is just not that good, anyone who has potential eventually moves up to heavy for bigger money so even unifying cruiser doesnt demand the same skill as unifying other divisions

That is what I noticed. He is very tall and has very long arms but doesn't use it to its capacity. He is so long that he will be holding a lot during the fight.

His skinny legs gives me the impression that once Canelo lands one of those body head combination he will do a Bambi impression.

In boxing we have weight classes not height and reach classes. Smith is much taller with a longer reach than Canelo but that only helps him at long range. Canelo can get close to Smith just as Ryder did and Canelo fights very well at close range. Canelo is a full sized 168 pound boxer now who is lean and hard at that weight. Canelo cannot comfortably make 160 anymore and that is why he only considered fight 168 pound champions this fight and nobody at 160. Smith has no weight advantage over Canelo. They both must weigh in at or below 168 and Smith can only gain so much weight between the weigh in and the fight without being water logged and bloated and hurting his performance. Canelo and Smith will weigh about the same on fight night. Jacobs looks so much bigger than Canelo in the picture you put up because he is much closer to the camera. Come on man, everyone should know by now you are Canelo's biggest fan and are only praising Smith so much to make Canelo's win over him as great as possible. You don't think there is any way Smith can beat Canelo. You don't need to make Smith better than he is. Smith is a good fighter with a chance to beat Canelo. It is a very good fight for both men and if Canelo beats Smith it will be a good win for him.
