One day, people will realise that It's about skill not size. Fury is awesome because of skill. Canelo beats Smith because of skill. Size only wins you fights against poor opposition. Skill, skill, skill. That's what it's about. Size is just an excuse that gets thrown around by idiots. If a skilled fighter can't overcome size, then he's not as skilled as people think he is.

Height doesn't mean as much in the midget divisions, Callum Smith is just a lanky beanpole, it's not like facing Tyson Fury, 6'9 280lbs of inside fighting-ness

Smith will be the taller man but he won't be the bigger man

Size does make a difference, height does not.

Usyk is literally a million times more skilled than Chisora but he had a tough fight with him, got his face nice and swelled up, got mauled all over the ring and had a fairly close decision and the only reason is because Chisora had 30lbs on him

Go spar someone 20 to 30lbs heavier than you who is in shape and you'll notice the difference, your punches don't move them and you feel the weight on everything they land.

Smith best shot is that sneaky left hook to the body.

I cant remember Smith ever fighting particularly long.

I know I've panned the fight a bit because Smith has no momentum heading into this but depending on how Canelo views these I think it might be quite violent. Smith will back himself to get off some big punches of his own

Thats what Amir Khan said after the Canelo fight he was shocked his hardest shot and combinations didnt budge Canelo.

Smith's dimensions looks favourable on paper, his height, reach etc. But he usually fights lower than his dimensions.

I need to watch some more of Smith. I’m currently going through Dubios and Joyce’ back catalogues.

How good is Smith? What’s his power like ?

So some of you feel that Smith is stiff and not that good etc because he didnt look that great against Ryder? Lmfao these casuals..

Once again Canelo proves these doubters wrong by facing the best out there.

He is good, most of the flak is coming on the back of the Ryder fight which he legitimately didn't deserve to win... off night or bad style match who knows? But it is worth noting that John is a compact, stocky dude built not entirely unlike Canelo and also with some stylistic similaritiies (although he's a lefty) which doesn't bode particularly well for Mundo.

Some reference material here including his best win and his worst 'win'::

Honestly expecting Canelo to win fairly comfortably here, however that does not mean that it isn't a legit or good fight... ain't Canelo's fault Ryder kinda got screwed and Mundo is actually the most accomplished SMW out there right now and I'd argue the biggest threat to Canelo alongside Benavidez.

Cheers dude! I’m going work my way through these. Hopefully he can learn from the Ryder fight.
