I think Froch would have got beaten by Calzaghe. Calazghe looked quicker and was the more blistering puncher. I liked the look of Froch though. Reminded me a bit of the Rocky films. When I saw him at Wembley looked a bit slow and then every so often would came at Groves with his big shots and dominate.

Agree to a point. In the face offs as well I thought Ward had the edge over Froch mentally . Similarly seeing fight clips Ward looked technically better than Froch and overpowered him as well.

      Yeah more than likely.

There has been several fights where Froch came back from verge of defeat and that just speaks volume.

Carl Froch is a fighter I can count on during crucial moments.
        My thoughts exactly.

          I apologize for the Novel

Froch is the f.ucking man point blank period . Wasn’t handed sh.it & Started late Earned his position in the sport The hard way by going out and earning it in the Ring not by being a prized prospect in Influential Promotors Stable who could take the path of least resistance to gather fake trinkets , from the time he got his first World strap taking Pascal 0 to KOing Groves in the rematch , every name on the CV minus that F.aggot Yusef in that 5-6 year span is a legit Notable name in the division who posed a threat not just a name who was years past prime faded only legit because of Name Recognition , walking away only losing and not being able to avenge the L to Ward ( Maybe his generations greatest Winner ) is F.ucking Impressive which gives him the right to say whatever the f.uck he wants and be brutally honest when talking about the sport and other fighters

Love his confidence & arrogance and him knowing he wasn’t the most talented so if he wanted to get to the top he’d have to be willing to go into and survive deep waters and outlast his Opponets until they drowned. Sometimes it had to be Will over Skill to get the W and when a fighter does that even at the end of his career at a age when almost all lose their hunger you gotta give respect because the Stones it takes to Be willing to do that For a entire career is crazy.

he’s petty as sh.it and seeing how he took joy in destroying Groves confidence and career trajectory because after Earning his spot the complete lack of respect Groves showed Carl in their 2 fights acting as if he was never sh.it and just a Paper Champ years Later wouldn’t hesitate to sh.it on Groves , for years no matter who he was talking too or what topic Was being discussed he’d always find a way to Drop in the line “ you know when I filled 80k at Wembley and KTFO of George Groves “ even in retirement reminding Groves and anyone who who followed the sport that Groves still hasn’t accomplished and wasn’t sh.it was Ice Cold yet f.ucking deserving

and after all these years the real hatred and disdain Him and Ward still Have for each other , both still will take any and every opportunity to sh.it on each other is gold

But because both proved their greatness and Both were Legit Long Reigning World Champs who where the best of their era in that division and between the 2 scalped every single possible notable name in that division had to offer, both possessing a unflappable Winners Mentality their entire career it only makes sense And fitting they’d have a Genuine Rivalry even after 10 years since they fought

A perfect example of the saying judge a man by who his enemies are

Froch is the type of Fighter who fans should get behind although far too many seem cheer for the Influential Promotors Favourite Prospect who gets their first strap in a Vacant fighting a Turkish Janitor get to fight big names and build their rep when their at the very end of their career and years past prime or have their positions elevated among fans & media not because they’ve actually done something notable in the ring but because they’ve mastered the art of building a instagram following for having the ability to look like a q.ueer who’d suck his own d.ick if given the chance

          Again Sorry for the Novel

Froch is respected by hardcore boxing fans, casuals, not so much, cause they're all on Calzaghe's nuts.

              I appreciate it, man.
              It was a good read.
I'm going to rewatch the GROVE fights now.

SMW wasn't weak in Froch's era, in fact it was loaded with talent.

Froch was a great fighter, I think his peak fight was against Bute who was at the time the boogeyman of the division. I remember people here were talking about how to figure who truly was the top dog of 168 at the time was the winner of the Super 6 vs Bute. Unfortunately Ward decided to shelf himself in a fight against his own promoter so Froch took on the Bute fight and absolutely pasted him.

For sure, one of my favourite fighters of recent years. 100% old school badass. The world will never forget the time he beat Groves in front of 80,000 people at Wembley... though granted that's because Carl will never stop reminding us.

That wasn't necessarily about who would win in a fight. I was referring to their careers.
