  • Comments Thread For: Prograis: It'll Be A Disappointment If I Don't Get Taylor Rematch Before Career Ends

SAN ANTONIO Regis Prograis has plenty of options within the junior welterweight division. Prograis probably will get the fight he wants the most, though, once he moves up to welterweight. The former WBA "super" 140-pound champion expects to eventually secure a rematch with Josh Taylor once they're both competing in the 147-pound division.

He fought a hell of a good fight and deserves the rematch. He has to keep his weight right or if he and Taylor go to 147 and fight there. I personally like him better than Taylor who is a bit of an ass.

Yeah, whatever? Ergashev, Matias, or Barrios! Choose one! Still salty we didn't get Prograis vs. Hooker!

Prograis so far hasn't really made a case for the rematch other then 'it was close though'. Prograis needs to put himself in a position to make the rematch happen, either with a belt or financially.

Regis Prograis and Mario Barrios discussing possible fight

Prograis: Two weeks ago boxer_Barrios said he’s willing to put up his belt and fight me next. That it’ll be a huge fight in Texas. From what I’m hearing now is he’s having second thoughts. I hope it’s not true champ. I’m coming to get that belt. Don’t be having cold feet now‼️👀👀

Barrios: Ain’t ever had second thoughts on a fight. Don’t enjoy the holidays too much, don’t wanna see you miss weight again.

Prograis: So you taking the fight or backing out? (Don’t worry my weight would be good next time.)

Guys who struggle to remain disciplined between fights and don't show up on fight night don't deserve rematches.

Prograis knew this was the biggest fight of his career and he seemed to fizzle out midway through. He needs to rebuild and work his way back to a rematch.

                  Taylor's not thinking about Rougarou.

Rougarou has some really appealing fights he can get long before a rematch. It must eat at his soul, that "L", but a few quality wins and Taylor will want the rematch too for the dollars it brings.
