False. You can debate who's more proven all day towards one guy or the other if you want to, but to me its irrelevant in this situation. Asses in seats matter most.

You can have leverage with a more proven record or a belt or a novelty angle or other things, but when the difference isn't THAT big &/or the leverage is minimal or disputable asses in seats rule the day.

False. I think very few high level boxers, like 99% of the guys we talk about daily here, avoid fights. I think its deeper than that. There is business, promotional & their own specific goals that are at the front of their list more than some guy calling them out. There are only a finite number of guys you'll ever be able to fight & your career only lasts so long. You gotta maximize your own short time in this game not help out some other guys career or even give fans what they may want if it doesn't line up with whats best for you.

All that said I don't think boxing SHOULD work like it does. I think there should be tiers of fighters at all levels of the game who can only fight guys on that tier with them so world class guys like Errol & Bud would only have x other world class guys they could fight so the fans would get the best fights much more often & worst case would get high level fights all the time.
