Taking a contract to a mediator does not prove or indicate that the contract is still legally binding.

A mediator is simply a legal expert who will look at a contract and try to help both parties resolve a dispute about that contract without going to court.

That is literally all the mediator does. The arbitrater will decide if the contract is still valid, if mediation isn't enough to settle the dispute.
