He’s in his prime and at the point were he can take on all comers now but credit has to be given to the matchmaking and GB with developing his career. The only way Canelo fights Benavidez is if it's for undisputed at 168. Benavidez has to get his title back. Fight Plant and beat him then Canelo will have to fight BJS after Smith. I dont see that fight happening honestly. If they do fight it would be September of 2021 at the earliest.

Glad he’s away from them. They built him up well but he’s beyond needing to be tied to a single promotion at this point.

You read comments by so called
"boxing fans " and you have to wonder if they really appreciate boxing. They routinely disparage Champions and top fighters with all kinds of childish , petty , mean nicknames , talk as if they have personal knowledge of their motives, intentions and reasoning. All of the worse flaws in humanity are exhibited by these teeny , tiny , trolls and it's very likely that not one has ever been in the ring or knows what it is to be punched in the face. I salute Canelo for his great career especially for going up two weight classes to take on the light heavyweight champion who had been crushing every light heavy in the division Kovalov. Also a 168 pounder in GGG that was a slightly smaller version and KO'ing everyone who stepped in with him. Much bigger , much more dangerous than any of the names mentioned here who frankly haven't fought anyone. You either appreciate boxing and boxers or you're just miserable trolls looking to demean a manliness you are obviously lacking yourself.
