He says thay 175 lbs is not really his weight class.

So again...who could Canelo choose as an oppponent that you wouldn't b*tch and moan about? Without naming any light heavyweights?

    Can you answer that question?

Glad the fight is happening before the year is over. I will look forward to this. Yesterday was a really good day. This will be an intriguing matchup. Smith is similar in statue to Rocky but a lot stronger and smarter. When do we get to hear Smith's side promoting this as revenge for Beefy?

I wonder. Do you say that about every champ that got a belt from the weakest champ in the division?

Your reply proves why you have close to 18000 posts in less than 2 yrs but not 1 positive rep. You're a dummy whose comparisons are way off. Garcia lost fights to good fighters, not a bum like Ryder, his losses are going on years, not his last fight like Smith, spence is coming off a near life ending accident, not a year long vacation like Canelo after only facing 1 top fighter that can be considered to be in their prime over the past 6 yrs. Like I said in my last post, we all know what Canelo is doing. He's facing a guy who deserved to lose his last fight, he's giving him short notice knowing that he struggles to make weight and will spend the next few weeks solely trying to boil down to 168, and for good measure he'll drop in a nice little rehydration clause. Now go back to pretending you're Mexican you euro f@g.
Weren't you just defending Devin Haney for looking unspectacular against old, post-surgery Yuriorkis Gamboa?

Callum Smith is way more of a live dog than Gamboa.

Why don't you keep that same energy?

There will always be a "better" opponent in some peoples eyes. Great is not good enough for them. Realistically Canelo has enough potential opponents to retire after fighting them all. He has 2-3 legit opponents in 3 different weight classes not including up and coming prospects.

He could not be in a better spot career wise.

that poster is a known hater and dummy. SRL, Floyd, won fights northbound and came back down. the limit for LaLonde was 168 to then back to Hagler, 7 lbs the same as 175 back to 168. These guys aren't boxing fans. It's really to do what the boxers represent, particularly countries. It's like ''why didn't Pac defend his 154 belt...how can you justify that?!' wah wah wah''

Nobody is consistently fighting better opponents than Canelo.

The fact that he gets criticized (while others like Terence Crawford get praised for Kell Brook) shows that haters just want to hate him no matter what.

Fap Fap Boom jerked to Bread's mailbags when there was skepticism towards Canelo's resume. People remember me for that, calling out Bread for it. I told Bread and everyone WAY BEFORE Jrock and him split, BE WARY OF KARMA! Been saying that here for YEARS! low and behold Bread's tone towards Canelo has changed a bit. At least Bread can feel humbled. Posters like Fap Fap must be hating that Canelo is pushing the game! MEXICAN BIDNESS up in dis hoe!

Oh, and for good measure he'll likely throw in a rehydration clause. We all know Smith lost his last fight, we all know he struggles to make 168, now he's essentially going to spend the next few weeks primarily cutting weight while Canelo has known all along he was fighting in December because there's been footage of him training for close to 2 months now.
                    1) I’m a boxing and fighter fan not a latte, soy boy moisty millenial who slobbers over fame and fandom. I don’t obsess endlessly over promoters and lick Windows while critiquing promotional companies. Most here do that. You’ve got the wrong cat

                    2) Every boxer in the history of....I don’t know...boxing....has had or will have a bad performance....which means absolutely nothing with respect to their fight game...does that mean that now they’re less of a fighter?

                    3) Smith has spent his entire career at SMW. He doesn’t “struggle to make weight. That’s a flat out lie! He is A legit champion who won WBSS. Nowwwww all of a sudden he “struggles to make weight” because he is AGREEING to fight Canelo.

Good luck finding a single article showing “Smith struggles to make weight” “Smith has to weigh a second time on the day of weigh in.” Know why you won’t, because it doesn’t exist and the people who endlessly hate Canelo make this sh !t up to tarnish his legacy. As recent as May Bivol was talking about moving down to face Smith. So much for him “struggling so much to make weight” that a kingpin wouldn’t wait for him to move up. You aren’t a boxing fan, you’re a fame hound and clout chaser. He isn’t going to spend the next few weeks trying to make weight.

                    4) Canelo constantly trains and keeps himself in fighting shape irrespective of any opponent that’s been named. So did Mayweather, so does Plant, so did Hopkins, so did Trinidad, so did De LaHoya...noticing a trend here?

Let's be realistic. Mayweather threw the bait and Canelo took it. Mayweather needed a cash partner to fight on Mexican holiday and what better than super popular up and coming Canelo? Sure, he was GREEN as f**k but isn't that the point why Mayweather picked him as well? Eeeeeeeaaasy money!
