I'm not mad at him though. It would be dumb to face Beterbiev for the same money and possibly get beat or KOed and lose a lot of future earnings potential.
I guess if I had to rank opponents for Canelo next (leaving GGG out because without a crowd that fight isn't happening), I would put Smith up there with anyone.
I guess it is just unfortunate that Smith had such a poor showing last time out. Besides Bivol and Beterbiev, everyone else possible has some downside too though. Charlo a little unproven, Andrade too etc.
