It was really sad that Brook had zero punch resistance left cos that fight was going to be interesting had it progressed beyond that round. Brook's jab was super sharp and his one-two seems very quick and heavy leather. Not saying he would have beaten Bud but it would have been a very, very interesting fight 'cos Crawford was getting troubled and on the way to his eyes been super swollen from that jab. How is he going to react to that adversity? I really would have loved to find out.

The referee is right there. He saw the shot, heard the sound of the shot, and saw the reaction of Kell to the shot. He saw his eyes, he was defenseless. And his remark after the fight proved he was unconscious. On TV, it may have looked like a light shot, but it was devastating. If you boxed that long, you should know better. Brook is contemplating retirement now. When he fought GGG, he was very competitive but damaged his eye. Ok, so Brook thought, I fix the eye, I can still be competitive. Then he goes in with Spencer, fights very competitively, then the eye fails him again and Spence wears him down. So Brook thought, coming down in weight from the GGG fight, eye still needs to be addressed. Goes on to win 3 straight fights and builds his confidence back up in himself and the eye. Then he goes in with Bud, is very competing for a few rounds, even up 2 rounds to 1 on Bud, all the judges scorecards, and then just like that, Bud takes him out. No build up to a stoppage like when he was in with GGG & Spence, just a quick stoppage when he was seemingly winning the fight. That’s demoralizing, that’s what is making a Brook consider retirement. Bud finally broke him. That’s impressive, he left Brook doubting himself again or if he can even go on. But he can because Brook was in with Bud, a lessor fighter, he may win.

Yeah, it's like when Douglas, Lewis and Holyfield had to beat on Tyson and grind him down for the stoppage, but comes along the true greatest in McBride to stop him in 6 to show how it's really done. Obviously he's the greatest after Williams who did it in 4, but that doesn't really matter. It was impressive, and he was Irish, so he's the greatest of all time. I just wish McBride and "Macho" Camacho were around at the same time to really settle who was the very best at Superfeatherweight.

I guess we'll never know. But it's actually McBride. When in doubt, go for McBride.
