Brook is contemplating retirement now. When he fought GGG, he was very competitive but damaged his eye. Ok, so Brook thought, I fix the eye, I can still be competitive. Then he goes in with Spencer, fights very competitively, then the eye fails him again and Spence wears him down. So Brook thought, coming down in weight from the GGG fight, eye still needs to be addressed. Goes on to win 3 straight fights and builds his confidence back up in himself and the eye. Then he goes in with Bud, is very competing for a few rounds, even up 2 rounds to 1 on Bud, all the judges scorecards, and then just like that, Bud takes him out. No build up to a stoppage like when he was in with GGG & Spence, just a quick stoppage when he was seemingly winning the fight. That’s demoralizing, that’s what is making a Brook consider retirement. Bud finally broke him. That’s impressive, he left Brook doubting himself again or if he can even go on. But he can because Brook was in with Bud, a lessor fighter, he may win.

Bud is definitely the goods and top level. He is definitely ARGUABLY the #1 p4p right now, given his success at 135, 140, and now 147.

The expiring contract with TR might just be what is needed to get him in the ring with the PBC welters. People talk about Loma downloading information in the early rounds. You have to give similar credit to Bud in this fight.

The network you fight on is the only place you're considered P4P best. Beating B and C level fighters doesn't make you P4P best. He might have the talent but until he puts that talent against better opposition, we will never know. By the way, if you decide to leave Top Rank and ESPN, you will find out how fast they will drop you from that number 1 spot. They only talk you up because you fight on the network and are biased towards their fighters.

If you haven't seen what Arum said recently regarding Bud's promotional contract, please see post #9! I think he's outta there!

Crawford is a great fighter, but his resume is just not great. he's in a very unique position where his resume sucks but fans still recognize he's the real deal, with no obvious bias against him. I don't care about p4p, but if I had to have an ideology on it, I think it should be constantly revolving based on your last 2 years of fights. I don't think anybody should hold p4p hostage based on what they did many years ago; more like foty criteria.

Anyways, the point is Brook isn't anyone to solidify the number 1 p4p spot.

Crawford is top 5. but not #1.. he needs Porter, Danny, Spence for that.

and Brook is shot to pieces.
