When Haney rehabilitated with his email belt he should have fought Fortuna and was ready. But Fortuna said that he STILL want to fight Campbell. Haney hence was expected to fight Linares I guess? I don't remember for sure but Fortuna's choice I remember clear. Hearn was so happy about that.
So yes... idiot. He could have fought chump after shoulder injury which increased his chances. Have you seen power from Haney against glass-chinned Gamboa?

I'm not sure you understood my post. I was trying to say that Fortuna wanted to fight Haney and was unable to due to certain circumstance.
And, yes, I did watch the Gamboa v Haney fight and questioned his power since Gamboa was able to take his solid punches flush and I never saw him hurt. My point is that, maybe, just maybe Haney is lucky that fight never materialized. And I'm not so sure Haney's handlers ever really wanted any part of Fortuna.

Haney is lucky that fight has never materialised, true.
But what circumstances prevented Fortuna to fight him?
Fortuna planned to fight for WBC Title against Campbell. Then Haney got that title back and hence he was NO more obligated to fight Campbell! He should havr fought Haney instead... BUT Fortuna said: I want to fight Campbell, give us interim title at stake.

The WBC should already have mandatories figured out

I was very aware of this. Again, what happened with that petition? I don't see anything that says that Fortuna turned the fight down. If Fortuna did turn the fight down then I was not aware and that would be too bad for him.

As mentioned to the poster who posted the article, I was aware of this but my question is what happened to that petition? And, again, where is the article stating that the WBC granted the fight and Fortuna turned it down?
My point has been that people were quick to attack Fortuna like he ducked and I see no evidence of that.
Also, I have not said much about Haney ducking but I feel like his handlers don't want any part of Fortuna. And, again, I am still not sold on Haney. That fight against Gamboa left a real sour taste in my mouth...so, only time will tell.

Damn bra! This discussion has been going on two days now, you had me google shyte for you. When Mammoth and yo boy speak, take it as the gospel. Basically in other news Javier said, nope I got other viable fights lined up for the WBC 'interim' or 'Diamond' belt, I'll fight Haney down the line ; you can say that is not a duck if you want, however to me Fortuna passed on the 'Dream'.

Fortuna's Promoter Wants Luke Campbell First, Then Devin Haney

Promoter Sampson Lewkowicz is issuing the following statement regarding Devin Haney’s petition to face number one contender Javier Fortuna immediately when boxing resumes.

“Haney vs. Fortuna will be a spectacular fight when it happens, however, we already have a signed contract to fight Luke Campbell,” said Lewkowicz. “I am happy to hear that Devin Haney has had a successful recovery, but I suspect the WBC will not go back on their ruling simply because it is more convenient to one fighter.

“I propose that Fortuna and Campbell face off for the interim title and the winner must agree to fight Devin Haney within 90 days. I further propose to let Devin Haney rightfully defend his title against a contender the WBC mandates if he agrees to face the Fortuna vs. Campbell winner next.

                      I'm out.
