Pretty sad that so few big fights happen in boxing that a natural welterweight beating a big name natural featherweight actually gives that bigger guy a claim to top 5-10 pound for pound. Not a diss at Lopez at all. Heck of talent for his age. Just the way the product is sold. Hope he breaks the mold and consistently takes big fights.

Probably. I can’t remember. I wouldn’t agree with that either, even though he absolutely steam rolled him. But Loma is older with all that amateur credentials, and the record for landing a title in the fewest fights, so I’d understand it a tad more and he was still at least fighting at his natural weight. Lopez, Haney, and Garcia are doing some serious serious cutting to make lightweight. If they weren’t so young I’d be completely convinced all 3 were using PEDs to make such cuts.
