Loma was an over all better win but Leo isn't no bum. And BOTH were fighting guys 2-3 weight classes bigger on fightnight.

Before Teo got his shot he only beat Commey. That's a good win and he did it with a good KO but beyond that he beat Nakatani, a japanese fringe contender and Tatli, a Euro level fighter. Everybody needs deep resumes to fight Lopez but he didn't need one to get his shot against Loma I guess.

Loma definitely should have known better and Teo was actually smart to not push the issue. Why not bank rounds with a few punches here and there if your opponent isn’t throwing at all? That enabled Teo to withstand Loma’s 2nd half surge and Loma needed about 8 rounds of sustained aggression instead of 5.
