Comments Thread For: Oubaali Out; Nonito Donaire-Emmanuel Rodriguez Set For 12/19 On Showtime

Nonito Donaire has a new opponent and a different date for his next fight. "The Filipino Flash" was supposed to challenge WBC bantamweight champ Nordine Oubaali on December 12 at Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, Connecticut. BoxingScene.com has learned that visa issues have prevented Oubaali from receiving clearance to travel from France to the United States, however, thus Donaire instead will meet Emmanuel Rodriguez in a main event Showtime will televise December 19 from Mohegan Sun Arena.

Damn that is unfortunate for Oubaali. Huge opportunity for Manny Rodriguez though to get his career back on track vs a older but still dangerous Donaire

Two solid bantamweight fights for the price of one, I can wait.

That sucks bc I was really looking to see Oubaali and how he'd do against Donaire, but this is still a good fight. Feel Rodriguez shoulda taken a few low-profile scraps to get back in to form, but can't blame him for taking the fight. Should be a good one.

Credit to PBC for finding an excellent replacement but I’m really getting tired of f***ing Covid ruining fights!!

Ah, was looking forward to that fight too. A decent replacement though.

Quite a few fights falling through of late unfortunately.

Quality replacement bout. Interested to see how Rodriguez looks after that savage stoppage from Inoue. Didn’t know Ennis was fighting Dulorme on this card. Great step up for Ennis, hopefully he can maneuver his way into a true contender by the 3rd quarter of 2021. Colbert is a great talent, why can’t they ever get him in with quality opposition though?

This is actually a good fight and nice card Ennis vs Dulorme is a good match up and Rodriguez is probably the best replacement they could've found.
