Narciso Valenzuela and Giorgio Campanella also dropped De La Hoya.

And Quartey was definitely robbed of a decision win that night.

This would be a great comeback for Oscar, they could settle the score and Oscar could see what he has left.
        Make it happen.

I thought Oscar won the first fight.

Quartey blew it in the 12th round.

de la hoya was dropped early in his career on espn lol . I can't think of the guy's name right now but it's on the tip of my tongue. He was dropped by Sweet pea in their fight 1997, then Quartey.

yes Campanella and Valenzuela too.that was a great opening round. i forgot about that one. but yes Quartey was robbed. I really didn't have that as a close fight. I gave quartey 7 of the first 8 rounds. He would outjab De la hoya all round and then with 10 seconds left, DLH would throw an 8 punch combination to Quartey's elbows as Lampley and the crowd would go crazy. Punches blocked by the elbows are NOT body shots. That fight was a disgrace. The funny thing is that I gave dlh the trinidad fight and I felt he was robbed in that one. He should have been so far ahead going into the 9th that giving away the last 4 rounds shouldn't have mattered.

Agreed on the Trinidad fight, I thought Oscar won that one as well.

But the Quartey fight was the perfect example of how the whole career of Oscar De La Hoya was pushed forward. He won several fights thanks to butterfly flurries and screaming chicks in the audience who made it look like he was killing the opponent.
