Comments Thread For: Franco: Chocolatito Fight Would Be Better For Fans, Estrada Would Be Easier For Me

Joshua Franco knew what he was fighting for the moment he accepted a shot at the title held by Andrew Moloney earlier this year. That vision doesn't change as he enters a rematch with Moloney this weekend. "I'm holding onto this belt, we're getting that fight with Chocolatito," Franco (17-1-2, 8KOs) told BoxingScene.com, of course referring to Nicaragua's Roman Chocolatito' Gonzalez (50-2, 41KOs), the legendary four-division and reigning junior bantamweight titlist. "So first, I have to make sure to take care of business against what I know will be a hungrier, more determined version of Andrew Moloney.

Like this kid! He is correct in his analysis. He also doesn't underestimate his opponent (Maloney). He is correct there too. Maloney will be a better version of himself this time around. Going to be a great rematch!

Without discipline, that is to say limiting exchanges or a fire-fight with Franco, and keeping the feet and head mobile, Andrew Moloney is going to have a harder time ripping the title from Joshua in the rematch this Saturday.

If Andrew gets KO again, he should consider retiring, there is nothing for him at 122 or any gold at Superfly.

No disrespect but Chocolatito would have zero interest in a fight with Franco given the belt he has is meaningless

I think you’re confusing Andrew Moloney with his brother Jason. Andrew’s only loss was by decision in his last bout against Franco. They fight at the 115 lb limit.

I've only seen one fight of Franco and I don't see how he can hold up with Chocolatito, his KO percentage is really low. I'd assume he has to believe his own hype but he is delusional if he thinks Estrada would be easy for him.

Okay. Sure. I will co-sign him against either guy if he wins his rematch.

But Estrada gets first dibs, and if the Gonzalez rematch he has been chasing finally comes through, there is Sor Rungvisai still on deck. Franco has a long wait for either guy. If Estrada has to do the Sor Rungvisai rematch first to satisfy his mandatory, then Gonzalez needs a dance partner. Maybe Roman sees the fight with Franco as a decent scrap?

Try to beat the Filipino and Japanese superfly champs first before the Mexican and Nicaraguan champs.
