He will be remembered has an underachiever. I mean what legacy is he talking about? He wont be a name people will talk about in 10-20-30-40 years from now. Hall of famer? Probably but he shouldnt.

I COMPLETELY disagree! If today we take a look back on the late 70's, early 80s, and if two of these following guys did not fight, there would be huge criticism to the fighter or the two fighters who didn't fight each other: Leonard, Duran, Benitez, Hearns. Even Jose Pipino Cuevas a 10-defence champion fought Hearns. The top Welterweights today not all fighting each other is not acceptable!!! HOW can a guy saying not being the KING of the division is okay? Thats like saying it's okay to be second best or okay to not being declared the ruler of the Welterweights. Why come so far without rolling the dice and chancing to be remembered as the best for an era or at least a partial era?Last edited by richardt; 11-11-2020, 12:07 PM.

Legacy?
Bud Crawford will be quickly forgotten and never mentioned when talking about great fighters.
Your resume is hot garbage, bruh.

If Spence convincingly beats Garcia, which I believe he will, then Crawford will definitely need Spence.
Crawford’s the best in my eyes but he needs ‘that special opponent’ and ‘fight’ to take him to the top.....In other words: Arum sucks!
Why didn’t Crawford learn anything from Mayweather?.....Why sign up with wack ass Top Rank after what Oscar & Mayweather went through?!?

Crawford’s resume is very weak. His best win is Gamboa? Very weak. He became undisputed at 140 beating postol, indongo and Ricky burns. How weak is that?
Let’s all not forget that Crawford RESIGNED with bob arum. Crawford could have been a free agent at 30 years old and went to PBC, but he didn’t want to fight anyone who could possibly beat him. Crawford made that choice to resign with a promotor who has no top welterweights. I blame Crawford for that.

Spence is a one division champ who won his two belts off of Brook (who was dropping two weight classes and coming off a brutal KO loss) and Porter who won a belt vacated by Thurman.
Spence never fought the 2 undefeated welterweights: Thurman or Crawford.
Pacquiao should announce he isn't fighting Spence or Crawford next so they can both finally fight each other.
Brook is now moving back down to WW at 34 years old to fight Crawford. Crawford is getting his first name at WW and it happens to be Spence’s dated scraps. Dated as in he is now beyond his prime. Not only has Spence fought superior competition but even competition that is still at their peaks
Spence not fighting Thurman has nothing to do with Spence. Prior to Qweef milking a 2 year injury to avoid top competition Spence repeatedly called him out and Qweef said Spence wasn’t ready and he needed names before he’d fight him. Spence chased him for quite sometime. Only after Qweef lost does he now call out Spence after ducking him for years.
Your comment about him not being a multi division champion says nothing about his greatness. Had Bernard Hopkins not moved from MW he’d have made first ballot HOF anyway having been MW king and defending his title 19 times. Crawford needs Errol far more than Errol needs Crawford.

He was a top WW beating Porter (another top WW) for the IBF. After that Brook stayed at light MW for the last 3.5 years. Spence’s WBC title wasn’t from beating Brook it was from Spence beating Porter. Spence beat Brook for the IBF and Porter for the WBC.

Spence doesn't get much credit for beating a Mikey Garcia who never fought at 147, or a Porter coming off two life and death fights. Now Danny Garcia who was at his best at 140.
Hopkins had 20 defenses at Middleweight. He lost to Roy Jones before the streak, then barely lost the titles at 40 years of age. Spence is not there.
If Spence and Crawford don't fight, neither of their runs at 147 will be all that special.

Crawford won't be mentioned among the greats unless his resume improves a lot.
Spence would be the biggest boost to it. But even names like Yordenis Ugas, Shawn Porter, Danny Garcia, and Keith Thurman would help.

Strange things about legacies. They get written by what happens, not what does not. Sorry Mr. Crawford, but your legacy at 147 is mediocre. There are so many good to great names at 147 right now. You have fought exactly zero of them. It will not matter whose fault it is. Spence will have good names on his resume. You will have never was fighters or has been fighters.
Get Spence. Get one or two other PBC fighters. Do it. Sacrifice money if you need to. There is a ton of cash on the table if you win. But if you do not fight them you have no real legacy.
