I ain't got a clue, man, would imagine you'd be the first to know. I wasn't particularly criticising it as such, with Canelo so recently out of contract and the circumstances we're in I wasn't expecting anything special - in fact I wasn't expecting him to fight at all this year - but the only intrigue in this fight for me is 'what round?'

The way I see it is the worst case scenario is if Champions want money that isn’t realistic with the current shift from Canelo’s circumstances then Yildirim is the best option since he has no belt and CAN’T demand like others while PPv isn’t likely. The problem is, will Canelo take the guarantee for Yildirim if PPV can’t be done? Seeing how Showtime gambled PPv with the Charlos and Davis LSC, why wouldn’t they stage PPV for Canelo vs Yildirim. This is what the networks would want. It doesn’t make any sense about PPV’s not making sense now when Christmas is near and Canelo has a fanbaseI ain't got a clue, man, would imagine you'd be the first to know. I see what you're saying, and I don't know. Personally I'd say Canelo probably should be trying to get some momentum going and should probably take a fight, any fight, even if it means taking a paycut... probably also worth it to keep himself sharp. But I can see he might not want to set a precedent by settling too $$$ low.The way I see it is the worst case scenario is if Champions want money that isn’t realistic with the current shift from Canelo’s circumstances then Yildirim is the best option since he has no belt and CAN’T demand like others while PPv isn’t likely. Guess it's down to SHO to crunch the numbers, see if they think a PPVs gonna be worth it, but I'd suggest it's probably too late to get it in this year now.Last edited by Citizen Koba; 11-11-2020, 04:40 AM.Comment

Exactly!! That’s why the vacant WBC wouldn’t be intriguing for Canelo to take? Who cares about Yildirim. The focus is getting that belt for unifications or general business at PBC. Fans don’t want to admit this because they just hate on Canelo knowing Yildirim will get KO’d. Ok then, so what’s, forget that Turk. Let Canelo just get a belt so we can get better fights or else Canelo should take Hearn’s offer for Ryder or Smith. This isn’t complicatedComment

The algorithm goes by activity, types of opponents beat, and how long in the standings. I think he was removed specifically because of inactivity. I remember PAC being removed from BoxRec before the Thurman fight and then highly elevated thereafter. Or was it before the Broner fight, I don’t remember..
boxing is not a maths game
that is why 'The Ring' no longer strictly rank by lineage
because they got tired of looking ******
any system that is not comprised of NUMEROUS knowledgeable boxing heads sitting around a table... is flawed logic, and utter garbage
the fact that they juggle PROVEN, TOP, fighters up and down with impunity... is a clear indicator that they have no idea what they are doing
boxing needs MUCH better than some halfwit paint-by-numbers systemComment

it does work through a algorithm (points system)The algorithm goes by activity, types of opponents beat, and how long in the standings. I think he was removed specifically because of inactivity. but they seem do some sort reset/redistribution of points every few years.
and 1 year inactivity does remove fighters from current rankingsComment

but your naive plan would never ever work in the real worldComment

1) Canelo is rightfully P4P #1 right now
2) Canelo still is P4P#1 on Boxrec right now at this secondComment
