Ruiz was not a champion, Plant is, that affords him the right to be picky about his career trajectory. Ruiz was begging for the fight, Plant isn't. Canelo specifically mentioned Plant which means he's known about Plant on some level for a short while at the very least. Plant would have had no idea. Also due to covid, a lot of boxers arent fighting fit. Did plant know suddenly he'll be offered a canelo fight?

I mean if it's because of training I understand. Dude is undefeated and has a belt and has promise.. no need to jeopardize his future to be short changed as a showcase for a current ppv star on short notice. He could tons of future money by taking a fight on short notice and looking bad

Excuses. Plant has been active in the gym past mid year and he posted sparring videos himself. Nobody cares for excuses. PBC fights have happened for months so it’s not Canelo’s fault if an IBF champ who claims he can beat Canelo isn’t ready? You guys can’t put 2 and 2 together.
