  • Comments Thread For: Tureano Johnson Reflects on Terrible Cut vs. Jaime Munguia, Desire For Rematch

There certainly have been some gruesome ring injuries over the years. A couple of that might come to mind are the horrendous cuts around the left eye of Vitali Klitschko in his heavyweight world title challenge against Lennox Lewis in 2003 that ended after six rounds due to the wounds and the massive vertical cut suffered in the middle of Badou Jack's forehead in a split decision loss to Marcus Browne in an interim light heavyweight title bout in January 2019 that left Jack with blood gushing down his face and covering his body.

Damn,a simple careless mistake that cost him dearly. I could have easily seen him winning the fight the way things were going.

Tureano's defense allows him to get hit too much. I said that b4 the fight

We all know what Wilder's next excuse is now don't we? I had the wrong mouthpiece. disloyal Trainer, drunk ref, spiked water, heavy suit, battery pack, egg weights, hammer, dented skull, the wrong type of crowd. Take the L, Nash out.

Sucks for real bc he was holding his own in the fight despite the size difference between them. Dude is tough as nails, but he gets hit way too much. He makes for fun fights, but you gotta hate seeing a dude getting nailed with big shots the way he does consistently. Hope he recovers well and takes care of himself better. He's not getting any younger.

You could be describing Mungia to a T there as well. He was getting clipped by the same overhang right time and time again. Cant remember the poster but they said Mungia was just a bigger version of Brandon Rios as far as defense or lack thereof lol...and its true, jaime's career will be shortlived.

Naw, that's disrespecful to say he's anything like Rios. Munguia does get hit a lot, but he actually tries to box and shows he can at times, but his temperament is to get into a fight because he's always been the bigger, stronger man and has shown to have a solid chin so far. Rios is just a come-forward punching bag that can hit back. He showed little defensive prowess at all. Only way we will see if Munguia can box for real is when he faces somebody his size and can hurt him. Until then the jury is out on him IMO.

I guess we have a different perspective on what were seeing with Mungia, all good. I see a guy that has gotten by on size and size alone. I've seen nothing to suggest hes ring iq is above anything more than to just to rock'em sock"em. I see the same fighter I saw 3-4yrs ago as far as defense.
