Say what you want about the UFC but they make the best fights happen and the ones that the fans ACTUALLY want. Boxing makes me so sick at times with this constant 'marinating' and waiting out fights until they're well past their expiration date. Smh.

UFC has no roadblocks thats why. it's just Dana calling the shots and he constantly matches the best against each other. you're right boxing sucks ass in that sense. i mean boxing is the only sport where you have fans with allegiances to networks and promoters lol. its sick. imagine NBA fans debating whether a game should be shown on TNT or ESPN and arguing about the ratings. yep, that's boxing. but i still continue to follow the sport can't help it. so fck it. Brook vs Khan fight was left on the stove marinating so long they're both crispy corpses now. those the risks you take. and the whole purpose of marinating is to maximize revenue by creating hype.

marination is not just often an exercise in protecting an 0 but a skill in fighting guys at the right time for your guy, timing is everything

Absolutely...a strategy that's unfortunately gained a foothold in our sport and why we hardly ever see prime vs prime anymore.

Remember when Rob Arum let Gamboa and Lopez marinate. Good times

It is easy for White to make any fight he wants because he is the boss of everything. It is his way or the highway and the fighters have no where else to go if they don't do what he says. boxing is not that way and boxers don't have to accept fights if they don't want to. There are many other networks and promoters they can turn to. Also there are about 30 times as many pro boxers as pro MMA guys. Damn near every UFC fighter is ranked in the top 10 or top 15 because there are so damn few of them. It is almost always the same guys fighting each other over and over again. Many of them are 40 years old and some much older than that and they are still fighting main events.

Some of you need to relax. Yes, marination is problematic. But a lot of you are just impatient and try to force everything into a narrative.

Reminder-Hearns made 2-3 title defense and Leonard 4 before they fought each other.

Some of you think a fight is past it’s date. However if that fight does great numbers and crosses over then maybe that isn’t a bad thing.

no cause i can rememebr you telling me 3 years ago that spence v crawford needed to marinate, now its probably less of a spectacle then ever since spence was pretty much exposed against porter and had a stint in intensive care. crawfords not beaten any of note since then either.
