Sources tell The Athletic that Felix Verdejo is set to fight Masayoshi Nakatani on Dec. 12 in the ESPN co-feature, and Top Rank VP Carl Moretti confirmed to me that the deal is done. Top Rank still looking for a new main event to replace Miguel Berchelt-Oscar Valdez

Good to see that Felix Verdejo 27-1 (17 KO's), and Edgar Berlanga 15-0 (15 KO's), will be fighting on the same card on 12/12/2020. These are two Puerto Rican fighters that are a few victories away from fighting for titles in their particular divisions. They'll both have a more than even chance of winning those title challenges, based on their skills, and power. As long as they remain focused, disciplined, respect their profession, and their fans. June 5, 2020, the day before the Puerto Rican Day Parade will be a night in which they'll be fighting top 10 contenders in their divisions. Again they must win their scheduled fights before that, then it's just a matter of time before they fight for a title.

Felix is #23 and Nakatani is #24 in the world good 50-50 fight I actually think Verdejo will pull this one off . If he does it'll make 135 all the more interesting.

I've got Verdejo, and possibly to be the first to beat him by knockout. I could be wrong, but it seems that this will be a very contested fight. These two don't want another loss on their records, knowing that a lose would only stop their forward progress up the ranks. The fight is only about a month away whether it be Nakatani, or Commey facing Verdejo. I'd rather see Verdejo fight Nakatani, than Commey who was so brutally knocked out by Lopez in his last fight.

I think Nakatani will present similar issues as Lozada. Verdejo won't be able to deal with the pressure imo.
