Did you not read the article? The woman was awarded a default judgement because he didn’t show up in court to defend himself.

I understand that there are people out their that target celebrities, in the hopes of gaining a cash settlement. That said the reason why this particular women was awarded a (Default), judgement in her favor, was because Adrian Broner didn't appear in court to refute the charges. Once you're served a summons to appear in court, you must appear in court to respond to the criminal charges. If you don't retain a lawyer, ignore the charges, and decide not to appear in front of that court. A warrant for your arrest will be issued by the presiding judge, for missing your court date. It appears that Broner didn't only miss a court date, he missed several court dates. Once he finally showed up in court without a lawyer, he stated he only had $13.00 to his name. The judge had already seen an Instagram photo of $100,000. in cash on a desk posted by Broner. When the judge asked him to explain the money he posted, he stated his rich friends gave money, and he spent it on paying his bills. This isn't poor little innocent Broner being targeted by the public at large. He's been arrested for numerous crimes throughout the years. Broner is someone who makes one terrible decision after another, he still hasn't grown out of that juvenile mentality. It doesn't look like Adrian Broner's life is going to have a good ending, he just can't stay out of trouble.
