Will current 135 be the new 147 of the late 90s?

The late 90s had so many missed opportunities of fights and I'm still upset about many years later. You had Sweet Pea, Tito, and Ike undefeated for years(yes Sweet Pea was technically undefeated) and Don King kept Tito from those 2 for years. Dlh moves up and gets a controversial decision against Sweet Pea and then Ike sits out and waits for a fight. DLH had some gimme fights, and after another controversial decision against Ike, he fights Tito in a fight I actually had DLH winning but Tito got the decision. DLH fought all the top guys cuz they wanted that pay day. Quartey vs Whitaker was signed, but it never happened. Whitaker vs Tito happened too late and Quartey vs Trinidad is the fight everyone wanted to see outside of DLH vs Tito.

Now you have Haney, Tank, Garcia, Lopez, and Lomachenko(if he stays at 135) . I hope these top guys just don't continue to beat up on Campbell and Commey like the welterweights used to do against Wilfredo Rivera and Oba Carr. We need some mf fights and none of this "A side" bs. Set up a tournament on 2 different ppvs with 4 big fights. Every ppv does not need just ONE big fight.

Haney, Lopez and Garcia will almost certainly need to move up soon, probably stopping at welter (where Vergil Ortiz is waiting to beat the snot outa them)

Right now though, awesome division with potential for the best fights. I hope they don't disappoint.

Well I agree because I don't see any of those buys beating Ortiz in the future. But Ortiz may be at 154 by the time they get to 147 lol. Ortiz isn't doing himself any favors with his skill and power. A lot of guys will duck him in the future and only fight him unless it's mandatory

I think 130 might end up like 147 is now.

You have tank who is the star. Then you have Top Rank that has all the best opponents for him at or near 130-Loma, Berchelt, Valdez, shakur, herring, conlan, navarette and GBP has Garcia, Diaz, and alavarado.

Of course there is Teo at 135 but he looks to be on the way to 140.

Tank may end up being the 130 lb Crawford where he just beats up lower level in house comp.

        Man that would suck.
