Deontay Wilder says “No” to Floyd Mayweather training him

By Allan Fox: Deontay Wilder says he’s not interested in being trained by Floyd Mayweather Jr, who he sees as just looking to get publicity by making the offer to coach him. Wilder sees Mayweather’s interest as self-serving to gain the spotlight off of him.

Former WBC heavyweight champion Wilder (42-1-1, 41 KOs) asks why Mayweather has come forward looking to give him a helping hand?

Wilder doesn’t believe that Mayweather is sincere about wanting to help him and sees him as just looking to get publicity, says Mayweather has bet against him in the past, and he feels no love from him. Wilder does need a coach, though, to take over as his trainer after he parted ways with Mark Breland recently.

Whoever it is that ends up as Wilder’s coach, it won’t be Mayweather.

Floyd betted against Wilder because he’s limited

The Kronk style would be good for Wilder.

Wilder showing the IQ of a little kid , if someone bet against you it’s because they saw weaknesses you bring . You would want that guy on your team for insight, instead he sees it as back stab . This is the guy who can’t take commentators going against him and tries to fire them The guy is pure poison for the sport . All the decent guys in boxing should really stay away from him because theyll be dragged through the mud as well when it goes south and he’ll try and smear them. Floyd should be smarter then this .Let him stick with his hood crew and let his friends train him , a real trainer has to look at this situation and be like what ? Ha

Floyd definitely want the attention on himself

Floyd still ain't over how much he was overlooked early in his career.

          I feel him though..

As PrettyBoy, he was one of the most talented fighters I ever seen in my life.

Why the public didn't see it, I don't know..

people need to accept the fact that Wilder isn't gonna get any better. He will always be who he is. Was never skilled, but just had the right hand. If you don't stand in front of him and take his right hand away from him, he's useless. I've said this for YEARS. do a search

Floyd is looking to keep his name relevant by attaching himself to the next generation, not help them build their own brand using his own shine. Dude is a leech.

It doesn't need to be Mayweather. But it does need to be someone who is going to disagree with him and challenge him to improve.

We know what he'll pick. He'll pick someone who will do as he says.

Mind you, I'm not still not sure he even fights again. Can you see him fighting at a lower level for chump change?

I think Wlad would be a nice fit for Wilder. I'd also love to see Lennox in his corner.

Imagine Wilder trying to do a shoulder roll.
