They were not in the handwraps they were in his gloves. A pair of green custom made Paffen Sports gloves that Team Wilder obviously didn't bother to inspect.

The only good I could see coming out of this is that no other Tyson Fury opponent would trust him with another pair of boxing gloves again.

Well... granted, Deontay has got increasingly weird or possibly delusional since the Fury loss, but there's plenty of folk even on this forum who I think got some pretty kooky ideas but it never stopped me liking 'em. Then again I am pretty relentlessly good natured so maybe it's just that.

The best thing people have pointed out is despite being allegedly drugged and beaten to a pulp with an egg weight how is Breland disloyal for stopping the fight? If anything, believing all that, Wilder should give him a bonus for saving his brain from becoming scrambled eggs.
