He was high volume in the Mares rematch(1061). He was even higher against Rivera (1273). Although he threw less in his last fight (907) that is still high volume.
What exactly is your definition of high volume?Comment

Leo and Gary was supposed to happen by mandate of the WBC and suddenly it did not and Leo was instead defending against someone else. Makes me wonder if Gary was the one to pull out of that fight.Comment

I was talking more past tense in regards to Gary Russell Jr. He won a title in 2015 so I was just saying that a Russell-Santa Cruz should have happened at some point between 2015 and now. As for GRJ and his relevance, it's out of sight, out of mind as far as I'm concerned.
Russell hasn't done himself any favors by being so inactive, but I do think that there was a buzz for that fight back in 2016-2017.Comment

Exactly, and I expect him to crank up the volume as much as possible against Davis, at least for as long as his chin holds up. Good research by the way.Comment

I can see this being a better version of the Paulie M V Broner fight. I think Leo has the necessary tools to keep Davis at bay if he can keep up the output. Those punches may not hurt Davis bad but they will sting and eventually become annoying. I agree, as long as Leo's chin holds up this fight should be interesting. But not interesting enough for PPV.
Hopefully Leo can use his longer reach to his advantage.Comment

but ppv? idk about that. 7 to 1 odds, making this a mismatch. we will see if leo has the legs and chin to last 12 with Tank.Comment
