Instances where another promotion has a champion that anyone believes could beat their UFC equivalent are not that common though. There is a clear difference in depth and quality in most divisions between the UFC and everywhere else.

This would make sense actually having one belt per fighter on the platform ,it would be a UFC like structure because no ones getting rid of belts growing in boxing ,it’s not going to happen .

thing is a loss in the UFC isn't a bad thing but in boxing if you lose you almost go to the back of the line, get called shot, or a bum its hard to sell boxing fans fights when a guys been exposed already

Neither of them have any kind of contract with DAZN, and Hearn has said many times that Matchroom fighters are free to move on and work with other promoters, if that's what they want to do. Nobody has ever had to sit out a Matchroom contract or go to court to get out of one.

Last year, Smith's manager/trainer was openly talking on social media about him possibly terminating his arrangement with Matchroom if Eddie didn't get him the fights he wanted. One of those fights was BJS, but they both ended up negotiating with Canelo instead of each other, then the virus came.

Yeah, I think Smith & Andrade both might want to think about ending that arrangement...or fight each other! All these guys sittiing around waiting for Canelo and Pacquiao! Very annoying!

The UFC model is not the solution. In the UFC it works because you get a good fighter, hype him up for a shot at the title then he loses and is forgotten. Insert new hype job and rinse and repeat. Both the UFC model and the current boxing model have major flaws. How can you have a ranked fighter in the WBC but not have that same fighter be ranked in the IBF etc?

Belts in boxing are used as a scapegoat. To fight guy A you need a belt. This guy will not fight Guy B because he has no belt. These two guys C and D are fighting for a vacant belt then Guy E beats the winner and becomes champ.....Why not have a ranking system composed by the same people who vote for the HOF. Still not a perfect system but at least we get a ranking system where you know who is ranked what and what your goals should be. Top 20 in division. Fighter 20 can only challenge up to 4 spots above him unless a higher rank seeks to fight him. This way you can clearly move up in rankings until you get a shot at the champ. The champ has to fight one of the top 5 ranked if they challenge him.

DAZN would need to add a lot more fighters to their platform and steal them away from the other 3 big promoters which I doubt would give them up so easily. If they can do that then they can start to really make a dent in the alphabet mafia.
